Arkof installed allegiance on my machine and played a game to check it worked. Soon as I started playing ( juckto(0). man that's weird to think about) I got linked. I remember Anguirel commenting that it was puzzling when one of his squadmate's hiders enrolled in @Cadet.

When I stayed at my parent's place one summer I borrowed one of Arkof's old machines and had to ask for it to be unlinked from Arkof and linked to juckto so we could both play.

That same summer we both got linked to someone who lived in the USA, which was just weird.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

To explain a little bit:
Grendelwolf and I were flatmates, we switched computers from time to time. I sometimes used his laptop after he moved to a new place with his girlfriend/wife. He sometimes played on my computer, when he visited. Yes, I received an exception, because I know the admins and the admins know me and Grendelwolf. They know we are trustworthy and don't abuse the exception.
Nowadays exceptions are hardly ever given, mine is just a remnant of a smaller community.
