Does this work with the Audigy Gamer too?

All the Audigy versions are pretty much identical as it uses the same sound processor. Just different DACs and frills.

Well, I played a game and turreted - no crashes and not even a single crackle!

I'm cautiously optimistic about this fix. I hope it stays good.

I'll be adding this to the KB with a caution that it may not work all the time, and will try to turret more to see if I ever do crash.

If everyone else who has tried this fix could also keep us informed of their success/failure that would help too.

Thanks a bunch for finding this, and thanks everyone who has tried it for letting us know of your results.

I get that crackling sound on occasion, but I have a SoundMAX card. Any help for the tech-semi-literate?

Has anyone fixed this with SB Live!

I tried the registry and its does not have the files from "EMU10k" on to the end, so i'm guessing i'm not using the same device type.

To Apathos:

Try updating your sound drivers. I have no experience with any other sound cards other then old soudblaster and audigy.

To: Paradigm 2:

Same as above. Also try searching for it in the registry by pressing F3 and typing in emu10k.

SB Live uses EMU10K1. So, try searching for that.
