Okay, so this is a little stupid, but bear with me anyway.

I'm using the controls set forth in "Remapping Your Controls" in Cadet I. However, I'm using a laptop, which as as you may know doesn't have a numeric keypad. I've tried to set new buttons for "Toggle Mouse Control" to either the Forward Slash (/) or a Shift+Enter combination. However, neither one allows me to fly with the mouse.

Just to be clear, Toggle Mouse Control will allow me to control the yaw, pitch, and turn of my ship with my mouse, right?

Yes, the mouse permits turning your ship and you can assign the mouse buttons to fire weapons/missiles

Alright then. But why can't I get it to work then?

Might be conflicting with another assigned key. Try looking through and seeing if the combination you assigned does anything else.

A possibly simpler solution might be to invest in a USB numpad or a USB keyboard. You already have the mouse; a numpad is not that much of a monetary investment. Probably won't really matter for mobility either, it's not like you're going to be playing allegiance on a not-desk... although I suppose you could but that might be a little silly.

*Facepalm*

I'm tired.

Some laptops have buttons that you can hold down, then press keys that act as a numpad. I know mine does (and it's several years old).

Try regular 0? *Shrug*

Oh... I just figured out (sorta by accident) that you can't fly with a mouse in windowed mode.

Thanks for your help anyway. :]

You can fly with your mouse in windowed mode, just make sure your mouse doesn't leave the window

Mmmm I had no idea.

Then again, I haven no reason to fly in windowed mode.

Also, ESC -> G -> J instead of Numpad 0?
