My system works fine when running alleg and i have used it for the last year or so and all was good, but today it doesnt seem to wrok, turns out my ports 2300-2400 are not working and so i do the logical thingy, i forward the ports, but i test them again and still comes uyp as a negative.
When i log into Allegiance i can access the main menu and then the 'Free games' section but then the Alleg scrolling notices do not appear as they should and i am not given the option to connect to the lobby. I tired fixing the portsd by forwarding them and shutting all my firewalls down, but nothing happens. I am, however using a family computer in this instance and cannot say for sure whether someone has fiddled with something or not. Should i just try for a re-install? i doubt that will help as i am sure it is a port problem. please help ASAP, i'll die if i dont play Allegiance for too long /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

The question is what did you change between now and then that doesn't allow you to play. Update a firewall or anti-virus software? The modem or router firmware? Install any new hardware or other programs?

That's not 2300-2400 inbound, that's an inability to access the lobby/AU server. Try pinging 69.93.201.149 - if you can't, there is something wrong with your connection or a router in between.
This also happens if you run out of space on the partition where Alleg is installed.

Want bigger games? Log on to play at the official game time: 9pmET/8pmCT/7pmMT/6pmPT every day of the week. Also Saturdays 8pm UTC.
To add a bit more to Spunkmeyer's comments
Why are you so sure it is a port problem?
Do you have a new router? Are you trying to run Alleg from two different computers at your house?
That initial scrolling message is from the autoupdate server (as Spunky mentioned) and is actually an http request (port 80). Since you can post here, port 80 is working fine.
Could be that you cannot get to the lobby/AU server because of a temporary network outage.

well i am pretty sure it cannot be a port problem because i can play from my laptop fine, the thing is i have played with the laptop and computer for a while now and both worked fine. though, like i said i cannot account for any changes on the family pc, should i just try again and hope thay my internet was just ahving a bad day last time or do you think there is a real problem that needs to be solved?
If you're still getting a problem loading the scrolling message of the day, then something is blocking access to Allegiance.exe.
