I don't see the hotfix there, unless they use a different KB code for the Vista version. I don't have Vista so I can't check any further than I have.

Yeah, being totally honest, unless the security update is the hotfix, that's all there is. There was a lot more description when it prompted me to update though... it really was just a security update.

Thanks for your help, guys. I really hope it hasn't just been me being silly for some reason... /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

It should show as 'Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB929729)' on the Programs and Functions list. Check the 'optional' tab in the Windows update for it.

Just received a 1.0 Sp3 update. Should I accept it?

You will need to follow instructions to remove .NET 3.5 from it if you do.

So basically no? What other aspects of .NET 1.0 are bad? Or are they all?

Hmmmmm . . . . :-(
You are right that 3.5 doesn't show in the 'Installed Programs' section.
'That's your problem' is hardly a helpful comment though. I would suggest that every new player arriving on the Forums is quite likely to already have installed it, and be looking for a solution.

Hi folks - I am totally new here (this is my first post).
I only ran into 'Allegiance' today, and with a bit of time on my hands, thought I'd give it a go.

I already have Vista SP1 installed . . . guess I've missed the boat already!

I got the usual 0xc000007b 'Failed to initialise error'. I had Dotnet 1.1 and the hot fix installed.
I ran the Dotnet cleanup tool, and then re-installed Dotnet 1.1 and the hot fix AND reinstalled Alleg.

Same problem :-(

I'll be following this thread - and also have a look for anything that helps (removes .NET 3.5?).
It would be nice to try this game. No dice right now.

Chris

TBH.. I have installed SP1 now. It was unlikely. We're just going to have to wait for them to release .Net 2.0 version.

hey i am new, and im trying to play Allegiance but im getting the Error this thread is discussing

considering SP1 came out before i knew about Allegiance i installed it

i have no problem uninstalling Net 3.5 (as long as i can install it later if needed) but i can find any Soultion to do so , although i saw a few post Reference a way to un install 3.5 (And if i do so, do i have to reinstall 1.0 with the 1.1 hotfix? i read about)

Easy to follow step by step directions would be awesome, im trying this game out for a group of 3-4 Friends, Thanks in advance
