In which case, you should have read through the thread.

Yes, I am equally confused, but I asked first, before preparing my rant (oh it's coming if you keep depriving me from my beloved ASGS). Hey why don't you just develop a new server/client independant of the runtimes?

Edit: Answer's just hit me...

I have to agree, but one question first. I know that development here is highly informal, and I don't mind that.. I have no right not to.

Are there any specified release dates, or milestones coming up? It would be great to have some idea... (can we get a RSS or something? I'll host it if you want..).

Come to think of it, I'll host a Alleg development blog if you guys want it... it will have to be something like alleg.gridfusions.com though...

We have a development sub-forum. Seems to work for the devs. I'm sure they also have other tools that they use. If you're keen, drop into the development forums.
The time to attempt to disassemble and decompile the newest version of ASGS that has been secured in a different way than the one we use every day which breaks with .NET 3.0 so that we can release it to the public with the confidence that it is equally as difficult to crack into.
ASGS .net-3.0-compatible just got very near! w00t /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Can someone detail the risks/losses for doing the uninstall/reinstall of .NET two-step? What security do we lose by not having .NET 2.0 SP1 installed, etc?

Windows Security? /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

I'm unfamiliar with the inner workings of .Net, but from what I can glean, the SP1 isn't security related per se, but adds additional API functionality (driven by 3.0).
