Now that's rather strange... One more thing that comes into my mind: did you install the Vista SP1?

I was tempted to, but no.. Was I meant to? I'm giving it teething time...

BTW my error is the one in the sticky but has 5 0's, not 4.

SP1 for Vista comes with .NET 3.5, which is a bad thing in terms of playing Allegiance. As for the error message, there is a typo in the sticky /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

There seems to be some remains of the .NET frameworks you removed on your system. Try running the cleanup tool from the sticky one more time, then reboot, then try again. Post result here.

Right. Sure... It's not done anything. A SP1 update for 1.1 is downloading now though..

Don't forget to apply the Hotfix for .NET 1.1 SP1 (it will become available for download from the Windows Update after you install the SP1 for 1.1)

As for why the problem didn't go away: I'm running low on ideas here. It really should not appear after you removed the 2.0 and 3.5... I'll get back to you after I do some thinking/looking up.

Thanks so much for your help. I've got a 4-day weekend now anyway so I'll have enough time to talk. I can arrange remote desktop or VNC of some sort if that would help, but don't blank my screen /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Um, really, don't offer random people you meet on the internet, total access to your compy... You can't know who is on the other side you know. I'll look up some other reasons this error can occur.

Total access? Noo way.. That's what I mean- I use a third party software that uses a similar affect to VNC, except you won't be able to block my inputs or blank my screen etc etc.

Right. There's no hotfix available, but I'm fighting off SP1 as we speak...
