You've got a pretty warped memory if you think that list is sad. But I was only listing the guys from XT's roster. Look at ACE and BS. Blackshadow doesn't even have 1/4 of the old vets on our ASGS list that have since retired from the game completely.Technical Wonder wrote:QUOTE (Technical Wonder @ Mar 19 2008, 09:55 AM) It's funny how only the @#(!ty AZ players are left over to 'carry the banner' of how godly they supposedly were. That list was pretty sad pico (I mean, you might as well have thrown bacon on there lol!)
Man, I hear you on that. I've been trying to get weekday squad games for years. I know it's hard for the Euro players to make that schedule, but it's impossible for me to make the current one at all. I work weekends and I know quite a few people who have family or other personal obligations on weekends that prevent them from participating.takingarms1 wrote:QUOTE (takingarms1 @ Mar 19 2008, 11:06 AM) I really really wish there were weeknight squad games. The thursday night squad function was awesome. I can never make mid-day weekend games. It just doesn't fit my schedule, and besides, shouldn't we play more than once a week?
I played a few pickup games recently and I understand how much they suck. Instead of working with a team to win its about bitching people into doing basic things like nanning and probing. I can understand why people think this isn't fun and are ready to stack just to get away from it.
So I say we need more organized games. I recognize that there are issues with scheduling, but can't we get past that by just having more games? Instead of 1 squad game in mid-day, how about scheduling 2 squad games at different times, so people can play after work or school on weeknights?
Any SL's out there feel like doing some Weekday games?

Bones heal. Chicks dig scars. Pain is Temporary. Allegiance is forever.
Also Takingarms, why not start some no-novice games? Split away from the main game some time and make an invite only game. Kind of like Allegiance in the SOV route days.
I know Spunky tried to make a veteran's league a while ago, but I think a reason why that failed was because it was too structured. Why not have a regular pickup game with just vets?
Theres enough newbs now to have a main game and a newb server going so their taken care of. Lets start having some fun, high quality games.

I asked about weekday games on TS after last Sunday's game - the general consensus was that squads need to grow much more for that to be feasible. As it is, a lot of Allegiance vets are people with very real RL obligations and they don't have much free time. More college students to the game would make everyday games possible I think.
Then again, we'll need more squads or we'll playing each other way too often. Like TB said, I think the next hurdle is two concurrent games on Sunday.

Aarm vs Spidey games is what you should be looking for during the weektakingarms1 wrote:QUOTE (takingarms1 @ Mar 19 2008, 12:06 PM) I played a few pickup games recently and I understand how much they suck. I'm sorry I don't remember any of it. For you the day spideycw graced your squad with utter destruction was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Sunday

My apologies.
I like the idea of a vet-only games. I don't like the idea of excluding newbs. Maybe we should curtail our elitism a little bit and all try to be more helpful to the nubz so they can become better, more useful pilots faster?
If we don't, then the community will shrivel up and die. Everyone eventually quits, and they need to be replaced.
