Sure it does, a person just needs to start flooding whenever and they'd be free to do it. Only TE can turn the flooding control back on, so the mods would be forced to keep deleting his posts until TE showed up. Flood protection makes it a very boring task for any wannabe spammer.

Just view FA.org in one page. That alone should slow you down enough to never see the message (I still haven't seen it...)

Credit where it's due, flood protection earlier today prevented me from doing a double post.

In can't be all that bad, can it?

No, and it's a closet spammer detector!

Just look at all these people who have been identified, secretly spamming for all these years! And to think I'd never have suspected some of them /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Do we want the normal people hindered in their everyday posting life, just because someone *could* post 80 posts? I remember 2-3 spammers in the last couple of years, not one of them came back, after their initial flood was over. So why not make this a temporary thing and remove it after a week?

A spammer could also donate and then spam /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
