I tend to use the keyboard, thanks.

Using keyboard only will result in you becoming very familiar with your eject pod. You can't have any degree of precision using the keyboard only.

I've been a mouse + keyboard user for 6 years. I got my first kill yesterday. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

I think the consensus is that joystick works fine for flying/dogfighting, but when it comes to turret gunning, mouse is much, much better.

I have a logitech wireless freedom. It worked good for about a week. Now It rolls on it's own, the throttle sticks, the reaction time is delayed, the calibration program doesn't work, and the axi are hyper sensitive. Look into the mid-high end Saitek's.

I've got the Saitek Cyborg EVO and I love it. Only, I got so used to the mouse when playing allegiance that beautiful joystick just collects dust now.

I second this... Especially if you have a "twist rudder" or a set of rudder pedals. I have my stick (which is an older M$ Sidewinder with force feedback) set up like a typical flight simulator, with the twist rudder to yaw, side to side as roll, and foward-back as pitch. Really great for flying Pheonix, which even with the recent changes rewards cordnateing the turns.

The old Xboxcontrollers are USB too, they just need some soldering. Heh.
But thats easy. The software lets you configure eveything after youre done.

But Joystick is the way to go. Its the twist that does it. (Original Saitek Cyborg 3D user)

Get a decent mouse, like Logitech G5. DPI scalable on the fly is sooooo sweet /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":iluv:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />

i use mouse and keyboard.

i should point out that a saitek X45's throttle doesn't work with allegiance (someone made a script to change this, but it was a rough job)

you can also now make your mouse more functional.

lol i should stop doing that /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
