So I was fooling around and decided to give this view try /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" /> . I ended up having a blast, yet I was confused and bewildered by the impossibility of aiming with the missile cam. Does anyone know if it can be turned off?

Check your keybindings. There's one of the views that is the same but without the missile cam.

3rd person is useful for FRAPS. If you've played a lot of Freelancer, and you have a lead indicator, 3rd person is actually pretty good for combat. I occasionally use it when I'm flying a giga lxy ship, or a stealth fighter.

The only time I use it is when I'm boosting.

Yeah, I've considered using 3rd person in dogfights sometimes because of the difficulty of aiming properly while boosting.

I have yet to actually use it though... the difficulty of aiming when NOT boosting isn't worth it.

It just seems like you could be so much more spatially aware if you used it (Like in unreal championship(the one with the swords? no? you missed out on a great game)). I think its going to be my main dogfighting cam, so when you see me be on the lookout for a little camera following me everywhere, especially after my experience where Shalla got me my luxury int whore machine. Made playing 3rd person all the better with that beautiful waxed paint job /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />.

Ach you philistines and console gamers! /glare.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":glare:" border="0" alt="glare.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

But more seriously Allegiance is a simulator experience for me. A third person view would dilute it terribly for me. I need my virtual pilot fix /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />
