Catalyst 7.12s fixed the problems.AEM wrote:QUOTE (AEM @ Jan 8 2008, 11:36 AM) I don't think ATI's HD 3000 series has any problems with alleg. But all I tested was in training mission using vista business 64-bit and single HD 3870. Tested with fraps running and still, as expected, didn't cause the fps to drop. I'll have to do more testing in the next week or two and report back.
nVidia 8800 GT 512 MB, crappy frame rate
No I still have the yellow box/blocks problem. I use alt-enter alt-enter to force it to windowed mode and back to clear the problem. It is a workable solution for now as it only occurs (for me) once or twice an hour.Bacon wrote:QUOTE (Bacon @ Jan 8 2008, 12:12 AM) Doggy, did you fix the yellow box problem?
Eventually I will be upgrading my PC, probably within a year. I'd be pretty pissed if a brand new video card wasn't able to play Allegiance as well as my 6800GS... this is the only game I play on a regular basis on my PC...
You say Vista doesn't have this problem, though? Even the yellow box thing?
I only tried it under Vista for about 2 minutes in a training mission, just long enough to see if I was getting 60 fps or 20. I was getting 60 with the latest drivers available as of the week before Xmas.
Since nVidia is aware of the problem and it works (well for most of us) with an older driver but not the latest driver, I hope they will fix it.

Wasp, please. I know what I am doing. This has nothing to do with my system, it is the drivers. A fix for Allegiance is already in the works and I get constant 60 FPS (vsynch) with it on 1920*1200 and 4* FSAA. It has nothing to do with remaing "old driver parts". It is a bug in the >100 nvidia drivers. By uninstalling via control panel and installing the latest <100 drivers, I can get my FPS back without any fancy "total removers". But I need the >100 drivers, so I am stuck without Allegiance atm.
Who said anything about "old driver parts"? Each case has it's own solution. If you don't want help, no problem. Your post seemed to indicate otherwise. Yea, I know, this isn't the tech support area, I'll go away now.Grimmwolf_GB wrote:QUOTE (Grimmwolf_GB @ Jan 9 2008, 11:26 AM) Wasp, please. I know what I am doing. Additionally, your pinned thread about Nvidia drivers is doing a disservice by implying that all video cards will suffer from using drivers above 9x.xx

Gimme a shot at it!
common......
P.S. (I already have the solution for Dogbone's problem but he won't start a thread on it)
EDIT: You have a post there already?...I'll look for it.

And what solution is that? Upgrading the DX interface calls? May or may not help but it is being looked into.Wasp wrote:QUOTE (Wasp @ Jan 9 2008, 01:53 PM) P.S. (I already have the solution for Dogbone's problem but he won't start a thread on it)
