It's a fantastic upgrade. It takes away the ints only weakness - hell, it removes the only major weakness for EXP as a tech path. That's why moving it to SUP makes so much sense if you want to nerf EXP generally.

It has the added benefit of giving SUP the ability to rapidly deprobe, making bombing runs more effective.

Thats why i say move EWS to Expansion, and PP to Sup. Then Exp CAN see things if they probe, rather then flying into a sector blind, pulsing out a miner/bombrun/HTT run, and proceeding to annihilate it.

Bah, all these topics on Expansion is getting my blood boiling, i need a break. /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />

That makes sense to me whiskey, considering exp is supposed to grab and hold territory, it would make sense for them to have good probes.

Imo, the best fix to ints would be removing the he3 dropping on f3 error. Switching probes makes sense, but will be useless if the ints can just see the he3 drop. I also think that the current int scan range make sense. They're already blind, they just end up magically knowing where the miners are and manage to get next to them in low sig mode.

Chances are, while we were at it, we could remove the build sphere bug as well. Both of those are tied, I believe, to the server not being able to save the 'last visited' state for the whole team, so it just pushes the current state to everyone, and being in command mode counts as being "in the sector".

Not a simple fix, I imagine, but one worth doing.

So if I made a core that moved PP to Sup and maybe raised Ints signature a little bit, but otherwise left it at DN 4.6 settings, you guys would play it?

Yes?

I'm just tired of Exp. It's a real treat when I get to play a game that doesn't have it... but frankly I can't remember the last time it happened. I'd LOVE to play a Sup vs. Sup game... even a Sup vs Tac game, although Tac generally dominates that.

Another reason why EWS should be in Exp and PPs should be in Sup.

Your EWS3 helps you a lot less against stealth craft than PP. But it's not like Exp is supposed to look for stealth craft anyway. They are supposed to take territory aggressively. That's why they call it Expansion, not Supremacy.

QUOTE Not only that but since I've started complaining so vocally I think we've seen much less Bios GS+Home Sup+Tp2+XRM. Now if we can do the same thing with Exp![/quote]

Bios tacyard FTW!

Take pheo-"noobs love it"-nix out too - but I think you'll have to do that anyway legally. Make ews2/3 actually worth it whilst you're at it too.

Why would I have to take Nix out? Are the textures leased to Noir or something from the dude who made em?

That'd be a pain in the freakin' ass! Although I guess I could just remove the faction as a choosable faction and wouldn't have to remove everything by hand... been awhile since I've used ICE, but it'll come back to me!

I think I might make a post in misc development. Noir seems to be kinda done w/ DN and is only releasing and update every 6 months or something. The game is far from balanced, though...
