RB: Terralthra commands Iron Coalition
GT: jGBaxter commands Belters
Settings: HiHigher, med/med/normal
I push opening op and teleport together to 7, jGB places his op in 2 with a ref behind. His opening TP I assume plants at home. Some minor skirmishing over both miners ensue, but very solid miner and con D ensures the He3 keeps flowing on both sides.
I start on my expansion complex and push a 2nd OP high, but short build it in 10 as we spot their sup con in 9 with at least 3 escorts, and my light ints aren't quite a match for belter fignans, especially having had to boost 2 sectors to get there. My 2nd TP plants 4. I leapfrog an outpost to 3 to threaten their op in 2, jGB puts a teleport in 12, then pushes an op and TP together into 1, while somewhere along the line building a home tac. I quietly buy tech and upgrade my expansion, while sending most of the team after their miners. Solid probing and scouting continually pinpoint their miners, but to no effect, as extremely solid miner D on blue stymies the miner hunting. They push a TP into my op sector at 10, and the time has come to buy bombers. A quick int-camp ensures the death of that TP, while ints foil their first bombing attempt.
History in the bomber then rips low attempting to go for their home, but is eyed way too early, and the aleph is mined and droned good. So instead he docks and the bombrun transfers to 3 to go after their op in 2.
Their stealths are up at this point, and 2mw pulselaser makes short work of 3 of my lightly defended miners. Madpeople in particular was a very effective miner hunter. I dock my last miner, having finished buying most interceptor tech from the exp, and upgrading the garr to begin heavy bombers.
The bombrun on 2 is successful, but they have plenty of warning to camp, caltrop, and drone the aleph to their op/tp in 1. I put another TP up in 5 to facilitate mining. I push another op into 2 while a 2nd bombrun makes them camp up, and when the op builds, a couple of nans dock and transfer high to Greenhawk's 2nd bombrun to 1. He bombs that successfully, while History rips to 4 and hits their TP 12. He continues to their home, perfectly situated to pump their tac lab full of 1kT(A)s, but because of the armoured warheads, he can't do more than dent their TP before running out and ripping low to rearm. Green meanwhile takes his solo bomber to be a paper tiger on their sup.
The drones/mines expire from 7 to their home, and History with nans and interceptor cover in the form of ever-whoring doofus and Kartoffel make short work of the outteched defenders. An SB shows up at the op low after History leaves, and I curse, but manage to pod him before he pops the op. /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="
This time armed with plenty of 1kT, History blows the garrison and TP while most of GT fume in their eject pods. "DAMN YOU KARTOFFEL!!" I can imagine most of them saying.
Green's "distraction" bomber enters their sup sector and manages to blow their sup, as most of the D is podded in their home, and the few remaining D is camping the aleph from their home against History's more obvious bombrun. The pods that manage to get picked up launch from their newly discovered Expansion complex in 11 in interceptors, but can't stop the oncoming bombrun and we get their Exp.
Good game all around. Lots of good feelings about the differences, and an agreement to do it again from GB. Nice flying to all of my pilots, GB and RT alike, especally Thelamon, who crossnanned like a champ, and doofus, who whored it up quite well.
