In order to show my support for probers I have spent my time hitting some arbitrarily random quota of probes being dropped this year (In other words, I dropped however many probes and I’m gonna say that’s close enough). Since probers often consider probes an “artâ€

Probing wins games. Simple.
I decided to relive the days gone by in my new blog.

It always bothers me when people NEVER TAKE ALONG PROBES during initial scouting! It's not that hard to put A PROBE IN EACH SECTOR JUST IN CASE A BOMBER SHOWS UP. You don't need freakin' mines or missiles during this time, just keep a nan in cargo, and everything else should be probes. amirite?

Guess it depends. Since there seem to be so many probe whores these days, I load up with dumbs, and a prox or beacon/rp. Find myself a fig/int to team up with, and try to go bag a miner or a con. Works more often that not. IMO probes are for when you need to keep tabs on an area you can't personally afford to camp with a scout or sf.

Maybe 1 scout with probes for each 'path' from your home to theirs, but if you overcomitt to scouting, you may not have enough firepower to stop their opening push.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

not to say u shouldnt probe in your own sectors for tp2s and htts etc

but in the opening scouting, i see many scouts droping probes in the sector adjacent to our home. i dont completely understand this, since it is unlikely that an enemy bomber rush would appear behind your opening op. heck, the sector is gonna be usually filled with a techbase or ref in about 3minutes...

just saying in opening game when time is of priority, maybe u should throw those probes in front of your op sector and not behind it?
