Okay, so I got a nice shiny new graphics card and the frame rate is crappy...

With my old card, ATI X800XL 256 MB, things were nice and smooth
With the new card (latest drivers as of this month) the fps is in the upper teens to low 20's :(

Changing the color depth did not make a difference, nor did windowed versus full screen.

Anyone have this card or the 8600 and notice the same thing?
I have not tried with application specific settings yet, but even if everything was maxed out settings wise, at 1024x768 I should be getting killer fps.

Basic other specs

WinXP Pro SP2
2 Gig
Intel Core Duo 6600 (2.4 GHz)
Sound Blaster Audigy 4

Yes, today I played Allegiance for the first time since getting my new computer with an XFX 8800GT. It was really choppy and occasionally, everything would go yellow and REALLY @#(!ty prompting a restart of Allegiance.

Immortalz is having a hard time with a new ATI card (Radeon HD2900XT 1GB) as well.

Although I've yet to see any video corruption or restarts, just choppy. But I only played for 40 min or so before I got dropped because of my lousy ISP.

Is it to do with the vSynch setting.

Worked for me on my old pc.

Well I messed with the settings, application specific to Allegiance in the NVidia control panel.
Not really any improvement. Forcing vsync off helped maybe a tiny bit as did turning AA off.
Still considerably worse than my old card.

hmm... they only time I've had something like that happen was when I forced AA on, but if you've already turned that off, I don't know what to say.

It works better now, now that it says "using hardware rendering". Dunno if that has anything to do with it.

Hmm, here I thought it was something I had messed up.
Also running the 8800 GT, vsync off, and well, you've heard the rest.

Hey, I pretty much have the same problem with my 6600 GT. I don't remember if my framerates where higher with an older card, but they are pretty crappy for a 9. generation card with a game made for the third...
Is it a driver problem perhaps? (I don't want to mess with my system at the moment)

Grimm, I use a 6600 GT without any problems. I think it was a driver issue but I am not sure.

I will be gone from home (and my computer) until early January, but if you're still having trouble then shoot me a PM and I can give you my specs.
