Just another question:
At what distance can you shoot xrm, if you go fullspeed towards the enemy base?

Was it Guitar that booted you !?!? He was my first boot. Ah the fond memories. Am I seeing a pattern here?

10x your "full speed" + XRMs maximum range.

Usually though, "skill" is used to covertly mean "match the game exactly to my level of competence." Anyone who is at all worse than me should fail utterly (and humorously!) and anyone better is clearly too caught up in the game and their opinions shouldn't count.

I did boot Rotary the other day in our GT game, but I do not think he was bombing. I booted him for being an idiot and letting a miner die while he was in a GT scout, less then 400m away, shooting at the single int.

Yeah.

All GT scouts with a nan. Yeah. Dead miner.

And didn't you learn something yungmoose after that? huh? Better learning through the stick and carrot method.

Gui likes popping cherries, does he? Hmmmmm.

Pilots should ask themselves every so often, "Am I doing the right thing?" If you're not sure, ask your commander. It just might save you from getting booted.

You don't need a lock to fire a missile. It is a judgement call. Bases are huge targets and dont wait for a lock if you are sure that a straight flying missle can hit the thing and not go through the extensions of the base model. Also, when perfectly aligned behind a miner or a carrier, I do not wait for a lock, just lob the missles as they load, and they do hit.

Also missiles actually sort of lock a lot further away then actually stated, if its a guided missile (i.e. not PT Bbr missile style) so including dumbs the missile will try and track the target a little bit so as long as the missile only has to fly straight and not make silly turnings (which lower its duration and thus cause the missile to dissappear instead of exploding on the base).

This is true for all missiles and not just AB, you can launch hunter 1 at around 2k at good speed if your target is ahead in your sights and G-Indicator (square brackets to show where you are moving to). Not to mention it doesnt matter what distance you fire a missile the opponent will get the bleeping warning of an incoming missile and may waste cms defending against it (good counter tactic is to only deploy cms when you actully see the missile icon).
