Ok heres a idea that can make this game SOOOO much better
My internet is falling out somethimes or my sister is downloading a file of 13GB!so my idea for this game is
Skirmish VS CPU????? that training thing is boring
like U are commander VS a CPU thats commander
or U are commander with AI fighters VS CPU commander and fighters
or maybe a menu of it?
plz can the makers make it??
a VERY good idea for this game

Yep, that's a cool idea, but it would involve so much work from the dev team that you'd be better off making a Allegiance total conversion mod for Homeworld.

True. Anybody ever try playing against Empire Earth's AI? It's like fighting with a wet sock.
On the other hand, if that's the kind of crap that can get pawned off on the unsuspecting public, I suspect we could develop a crappy CPU comm. It wouldn't be great... you might start by creating by-the-book "recipes" for a tac/exp/etc strategy (step 1... build OP. step 2... when $ = X, do...) and have a random if/then to determine which path to take (weighted by the faction). It wouldn't be perfect, but we could screw with it and evolve it a little. The trick is just building the teensy little kernel to start with. Somebody else gets ahold of it and writes a little better algorithm to determine where to put miners, someone else to "teach" the CPU when to camp alephs, and so on...
Now, creating PILOT AI would be downright miserable. And I wouldn't even know how to get a CPU to properly command pilots. But hell, at least we'd have a way to get games started when nobody wants to comm!
Having said all that, I don't want to do it. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I would go for just adding some more missions.
Like have a rix bomber enter your sector that is ordered to attack your base. In the core create a special scout drone that has nan mounted instead of gatt with the standing order to "attack" the bomber.
Your mission: shoot the nan(s), then the bomber, save the base.
Or the converse: nan a friendly AI bomber being sent to destroy the enemy base while enemy drones try to defend.
I suggest Rix/TF bombers because they don't use missles to kill bases so the current AI should work as long as they are ordered to attack a base (and if they don't ram it).
What would also be nice is just a cpu deathmatch. You select the number and types of targets and have at it. Even with the current AI it would still be more exciting that playing mission 6 over and over.
