I recently got Verizon DSL.
ASGS updated. Allegiance updated.
ASGS opens and I log in. Allegiance opens, I click Free Games and we advance to the next screen. I click Current Games Listings and it fails to connect.
I've defraged and rebooted.
Anyone got suggestions? /doh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="doh.gif" />
Cannot connect to server list.

When Allegiance updated, it replaced the .exe files with new ones.
Do you have a firewall? The new files may not be 'cleared' with your firewall. Try removing/re-adding the exceptions to your firewall.

The Allegiance community currently hates their sysadmin because he is doing: [Too Much] [____________|] [Too Little]
Current reason: Removing the PayPal contribute page. Send Bitcoin instead: 1EccFi98tR5S9BYLuB61sFfxKqqgSKK8Yz. This scale updates regularly.

Is your Verizon DSL modem also a router? If so, have you added the necessary rules to it?BOSS_Keeper wrote:QUOTE (BOSS_Keeper @ Aug 21 2006, 04:23 PM) I recently got Verizon DSL.

As far as I'm aware, it isn't a router. I'm not too familiar with DSL. I know it has filter cords for phones and what not, but we don't have phone service so we don't use them.Tigereye wrote:QUOTE (Tigereye @ Aug 21 2006, 06:26 PM) Is your Verizon DSL modem also a router? Only one ethernet output on the modem. There's also an USB output, I'm contemplating using that if I still can't connect. However, ethernet was recommended.

Its a router and by default blocks ports.
Go here for step by step info on doing the port forwarding.

Use the port range and such from the knowledgebase in case the router doesn't have a built in preset for MSN Gaming Zone.

Ahh, thank you very much. I'm so used to road runner cable modems and college T3, heh. I'll get on it asap.ImmortalZ wrote:QUOTE (ImmortalZ @ Aug 22 2006, 02:05 AM) http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6096

To figure out the IP address of your modem, try this.BOSS_Keeper wrote:QUOTE (BOSS_Keeper @ Aug 22 2006, 04:50 PM) No luck accessing my modem/router via webbrowser.
I get page not found.
I want to set myself as DMZ.
On a Windows 2k/XP machine.
-Click on Start
-Click on "Run"
-Type in: cmd and press enter
-A black DOS window should pop up, type in: ipconfig and press enter
The field with "Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . :" is the ip address of your modem. It's a series of 4 numbers, seperated by periods. Launch a web browser and type that address in.
