ok sinder, i did that and i launched again...
only this time i get a hollow window labeled allegiance like it is getting ready to launch and then it crashes
this is what it logging says,

Didn't work for me. Still getting "Allegiance did not launch in the time allotted."

Got it to work!
Installing vcredist_x86.exe didnt work for me until i used Windows Update to get a security fix for the .NET framework. Now it's OK!
I took the cadet course, and all i got was this lousy bitmap.Image

*** ps. anyway .. if still have problems .. .try reinstalling Allegiance again .. makes life work easier. Backup your trigger happy images you have captured, might something viewable after.

That is what I though and why I asked. Yes the Microsoft VC++ SP1 Redistributable is required to run R4 and if you haven't installed if for the beta you must install it now. I have no idea why no announcement has even been made yet. Should have been there from the beginning.

edit: i guess there is something now but it really should be in an ASGS message and on the main news page
