The crux of the matter was MW, you haven't played enough SG's to be able to say anything about how they are played.
You know what one of my true regrets is? Not getting XT to play GB in a SG when he was in there.
And ogo only commands Drunk, and pretty much is drunk when flying. I think the fun part is your bragging over a durnk pilot's kills. Wheeee.

ACE did, MW wanted EW map. We played, can't remember the details as it wasn't a memorable performance. I'm looking forward to GB's comeback as under a comm who understands the team they are exceptional opponents.

He played EW? Let me guess.... He was BIOS....

Don't get bombers unless you have to.
That includes when you are tac because it postpones tech.
You don't even have to get bbrs when you built your opening cons in the same sector, let's say you are playing hihigher, just have your team rush all his miners in the next sector and maybe lose the op.
Bomb against tac. If you have hi starting money then buy bbrs as belts. Get them as bios no matter what.
Or maybe you just like bombing, then buy bbrs and have fun.
P.S Most common maps are Hihigher then IO, then either Star or hilo442.

If you are tac and going to get SBs, you need to get bombers at some point. I understand what you're saying about postponing tech, but in most cases if you don't buy bbrs in the first 5-10 minutes they are useless. So why not bomb early? Lots depends on the situation of course, as if they are IC and have 10+ players you're probably going to be less successful bombing than if they are giga or bios.Narg wrote:QUOTE (Narg @ Oct 31 2007, 02:58 PM) That includes when you are tac because it postpones tech.

You buy bombers when you want your team out bombing.
Let's say you bought sfs, utl2, hunter2, cloak2 and energy ga (standard). Do you really want your team out bombing against whatever tech the enemy has? Do you know whhy people bomb tac? because it is hard to d with, enh figs or ints are easy to d with. So I want my team out killing cons and miners, I don't want to have half my team trying unsuccesfully to bomb an op.

I guess it all depends on the situation. Sometimes it works great to have 2 or 3 skilled guys on their miners while the rest of your team bombs, and then the enemy has to choose between saving bases and saving miners.Narg wrote:QUOTE (Narg @ Oct 31 2007, 04:04 PM) Let's say you bought sfs, utl2, hunter2, cloak2 and energy ga (standard). But then again, their are times that you just want to rush adv tech and get those LRM3 adv sfs... so yeah, it all depends I guess.

Yes, Narg, you do want your team out bombing. You want your team out making loud, scary, noises that the enemy team has to respond to, while you quietly finish expanding and buy your advanced tac.
Of course that's often not how it works. But if you don't want your team to bomb, simply don't hit insert.
