Yeah I was sort of assuming the case where you don't have pp, since that obviously makes it a lot easier /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

So it's interesting that it seems a lot of people basically use intuition and hope they can second guess the person dropping the probes rather than any specific search strategy.

That's given me some more ideas to think about anyway. Thanks.

If you're trying to deprobe for a bomb or htt run that is about to start (so you plan to nan later), make sure you bring a disruptor along. Dis is great for deprobing with, since it's drain rate is equal to your ship's energy production. You can perminantly boost your sig 200% plus it gives you a weapon with which to kill the probes with.

Finding probes which are near alephs or near bases is usually pretty trivial, these are the only times that you must find them. If you just can't seem to find that probe out in empty space, just let the bomber know that there's one in that general area, and then they can usually avoid it by detouring.

Shield + Dis + Scout = 325% which is a bomber with shields up and missiles down plus some padding. Anything like sig GAs which drop your sig will drop the bomber sig proportionally, so if you'll always know if you're safe.

Bomber pilots need to get in the habit of trying to fly with at least missiles in cargo, it makes it way easier for the scouts to find probes by reducing the area that's needed to search.

as a wannabe commander i am aware that probing is a decisive aspect of the game. it's great to have a probe whore in your team always (w00t, can you whore and probe? wtf? /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" /> ), like NOIR (noir = bestest -ya, the best of the best = bestest- prober of all alleg). However, if you feel like the game is just too fragile in case there were no probes, you can check with f3 and call for it.

Saisoma has just said the best method to deprobe. however, you must note that GOOD probe whores will get on your nerves. remember always to check from the very beginning: you don't want to get spotted by a probe next to your base (most probe whores will put the probes barely out of range of your bases. you should check for eye before launching the bomber)

Cadet material needs to be made public, and organized into specific categories to cover things like this.

You dont need to give information to people in "Healthy, Normal, Weekly Portions". This is not Special Ed Elementary School.

Cadet I will be live within 10 days. The idea for a public cadet course & content was started before you joined us. It has taken a year for us to design the content, write new material, edit, organize and post it. I am literally finishing up the page links as I type this. I could have done a few more pages but must once again address your posts. IF you would only read (and that included when you were in cadet - the feedback request for the new course) you would find dozens of posts concerning this exact issue. And what we were doing about it.

We are so glad we have you here to point out the obvious. Sorry, but just tired of your constant stupid spamming posts. I hereby officially rename you from Mr. E to "Special Needs Player".

I now ask our community to assist me in helping "SNP" with his life and playing. Hopefully if we do this right somewhere down the road he will actually make contact with a member of the opposite sex and enjoy a normal relationship. Because without our help it is quite obvious he will not succeed.

So please pay attention to him in game. Pat him on the back. I can ask, but can't expect you to take him off of "ignore" posts.

Im not going to pretend to have anything to retort to that, infact I am elated that you guys have worked on, and plan to soon release a public cadet course.

Except of course the insults, which have nothing to do with the topic.

I will respond to your derail in kind however.

Blackviper, you are a totalitarian leader of all things enforcement, the lines between right and wrong, justice and corruption, proper and improper, are decided by your whims. You pretend to act on certain features with a line of "This is what is written, and this is what will be performed." Then you can quickly dictate whatever is right, and what is not, whenever it comes to your convenience.

Perhaps one day more of the existing players will voice their discontent while continuing to play, or it will fall to the continuing stream of players that you drive away with your policies. Or, more probably, people will continue to not speak of their discontent due to your position of power, and importance.

I guess its fun living in dream land.

One small difference SNP, anyone can go back and read your posts for the last, say six months. The difference between me and the rest of the community is my patience is a bit stronger. But I have reached mine with you. And yes, I am slightly abusing my position here. I am going to tell it like it is. A very large number of people are just tired of your constant "no thought" posts on every subject.
I can get away with it where I would have to probably step in when other people post the same. But then again, I have not lately. Wonder why....

Sorry for the derail folks. Some good probing articles coming up soon.
