It would be nice to have the time (EST or UTC or any) displayed on the 1st page.
That way we can have a reference time for all events.
Time on the front page
i suggested something essentially the same as this years ago (CAT - central allegiance time displayed on a page, same as UCT for simplicity of conversion, maybe expand the system to allow people to schedule events at certain times on CAT, then on the CAT page, you cold have count downs like "1 hour 20 mins til pk vs XT", even more fancy is allowing FAZ to access the CAT server and display messages in game "20 minutes til GB vs srm on DN squads 2")...

Seconded.
PS: Yes, the time is displayed on the bottom-ish of most pages, but it's really hard to spot it. I mean, not really dumb-safe, is it?

i think that's your local time. (or what you told the board is your local time)badpazzword wrote:QUOTE (badpazzword @ Oct 2 2007, 09:13 PM) Seconded.

the point of this is that it displays the same time for everyone, not the local time for the person viewing the page
Wouldn't it be great as well to have a special forum IBF/BB Code tag within the Insert Special Item dropdown of the Reply / New Topic page, which would allow you to insert a time (date) and timezone into your post and it would display in the respective timezone of the reader set in his forum Control Panel?
I don't know if this is feasible, as it would require to parse the posting text each time it is displayed or some ingenious caching.
The time of the posting itself is already shown in your local time. Maybe one could use existing functions or - even better - there might already be an IP.Board plugin for this?
In this context - if you look at a quoted posting:You'll notice that the time reference given there lost the dynamic timezone information and displays time/date in the timezone of the person who replied. Just compare the times using the little arrow button of the quote title bar.
Both of these issues could be fixed by the same feature.
