So right now we have 2 kinds of AC, and 1 kind of skycap....
With the aoe/accuracy fix that Noir gave skycaps, they have become very powerful.....
I suggest a mini-skycap, that would have less damage and perhaps less range for the gs, dissallowing it the full skycap.
Or, perhaps make 3 types of each.... one for heavy fighters, one for medium sized ships, and one for capships.
In order to make both weapon types useful (which they aren't right now...you don't use AC on gs or capships) I suggest this:
All 3 versions of skycap would have an advantage of range over their AC counterpart and aoe, while the ACs would have the advantage of doing more damage to heavier types of armor.
