I don't know what version you have, but according to the McAffee site for Personal Firewall 6:

Code: Select all

How do I configure Personal Firewall/Plus to play Internet games?

Summary: This article explains how to configure Personal Firewall/Plus to play Internet games.

Ensuring the Security Level Is Set to 'Trusting'

For the most part, you don't have to adjust Personal Firewall/Plus at all. However, some games require that your system accept traffic on different UDP ports, although these are mostly DirectPlay-based games. This means that if a game has 'rooms' or 'lobbies', e.g. GameSpy Arcade or MSN Gaming Zone, you need to make an adjustment to the Personal Firewall/Plus.

We have designed our 'Trusting' security level to allow the necessary traffic type. You should also be aware that some unscrupulous Internet users, or fellow gamers who know your IP address, might attack using UDP floods to slow your PC down. To make this change, do the following:

   1. Right-click the McAfee icon.
   2. Click Personal Firewall.
   3. Click Set Security Level.
   4. Choose Trusting Security.
Normally I would have just posted the link to the page, but it's one of those dynamically built pages, so I direct link to the "answer" isn't practical. Here's the link anyway, in case I've guessed wrong about your version: linky

lol thanks but sorry to say I'm way past that we tried that 11 hours ago but thanks trying to allow the ports that Alleg uses

opened McAfee security center
clicked on adv menu

clicked on cofigure

click on network and internet network

click firewall

then on advanced settings

then system services

click add

added allegiance with port ranges 2300-2400

So it's just "how to specify the port range"? It looks like the format is "2300-2400". Give that a go.

Just. Don't. Use. McAfee. Did you read our suggestions for alternative software in the other thread?
