i think my best moment was when i was commanding phoenix against mallow i think on SG time (had no tag at that moment), and they were dreg, had an adv sup and all the toys, we had an adv exp that got bombed, they killed all of our miners but one (adv miner), and killing that last miner would´ve been game. i was also HEAVILY stacked against, and could not do anything about it. we also had no more heavy ints, and people were flying in circles exept for a select few. when we had that last miner only, at some point they rushed to kill it, 5 dreg adv figs with all missile perks and gat 3, i was defending (the only one, btw) it, and get to kill the five of them before they get the miner kill. after that, i got a transciever and the pk vs xt game finished, so i got a massive influx of vets on my team, which lead us to a certain win.
also commanding gigacorp against gap (dreg) fighting against the stack, which i managed to win (thanks specially to grav, sheff and souv, all defending and killing cons and miners), that was a close game, and had that last tp2 drop failed we would´ve lost. great job everyone there.
another memorable game was my rix exptac vs somebody´s (can´t remember) exp on polished diamond, we had an exellent opening that led us to inminent win. again, everyone defended cons, probed, attacked miners, and did useful stuff rather than dogfighting numbers
What, just maybe, made you think you MIGHT be competent?

Not a damn thing really. But there was the one time I rushed a scout across two sectors to reach our outpost con that was on its last tic of health when I arrived. Managed to circle it and nan back to health before the whores attacking it could pod me. It was just able to plant and we launched our endgame bbr run from there soon after. Got a nice kudos pat on the back from Dengaroth (commander) for that one. Supreme Nannage FTW!

Oh, man, I was comming a game with Phoenix, I think, and since Phoenix research time is higher than others they had fighters destroy all the cons I sent out. The map was only 4 sectors with 1 tech rock of each, and they had them all. All I had was a garrison and a shipyard, and we were literally seconds from winning when my battleship ran out of ammo and they destroyed our garrison. I was exstatic that our team almost won without any real tech path.

Nans are for ninnies! Go Phoenix!

Beyond the clock tower.
Commanding against Guitarism, only to find out he had given comm to Nak after launch, and winning against the stack.
Nanning a Saxy Bomber with ImmZ in my first ever SG and blowing their Sup for the win. This may seem like any old thing, but it felt awesome. I cross-nanned but eventually Immz died after everybody was hitting him. I then nanned Saxy and everybody ignored me, energy low and his hull still taking damage. Aaargghh.

Me in an Int, going against a pair of HINTS as a diversion from a bomb run. I had a decent KB - I'm starting to get this mouse-dogfighting thing. So I'm hoping to stay alive long enough for the cavalry to arrive. Surprisingly, I managed to pod one of them before the other finished me - 'You have forced Ascalon_Rift@PK to eject". Pretty sure the bomb run - or was it a miner run - went off. In any case, that was the moment when I felt vaguely useful /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> It was actually a very good game, with a few miner takedowns, a key 'right place, right time' con takedown and some decent dogfighting.
I think I'm Inter. 2 now. I feel like I've only been playing the game for a couple weeks, but ASGS says I have 80+ games in...

Oh hell yes, I remember that. That was the moment when I went "Props to Kopper for getting us this guy."Deschain wrote:QUOTE (Deschain @ Aug 3 2007, 05:32 PM) Commanding against Guitarism, only to find out he had given comm to Nak after launch, and winning against the stack.

Those were the simpler days wasn't it? Boosted belter bombing. None of this heavy int business /ninja.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ninja:" border="0" alt="ninja.gif" />

I remember that. So awesome. Not a big bombrun, bomber, turrets, scouts, and a pair of heavy ints. Open space prox drop in a turreted heavy scout = dead bomb run. Deng was commanding that SG.Bard wrote:QUOTE (Bard @ Aug 4 2007, 04:53 AM) Killing an entire @ACE bomb run in a Squad Game (fully nanned, properly organized, and heavily escorted) with nothing but a single heavy scout. (shout out to terralthra!)
My personal moment of competence was either this game, or being told by GreyVulpine@XT that I was on his kill-on-sight list for my devotion to killing the enemy team's econ (After a game where I stalked and killed 4 miners, then assisted in swarming 2 more).
