FAZ R4 is nearing completion, but there may still be a few bugs - we need YOU to help find them!

Please try to play on the beta servers today instead of the regular servers, and encourage everyone else to follow you there.

The previous releases left a few players with worse sound/video performance because some bugs were not found/reported before released, leaving them to wait months to get it fixed in the next release. Don't let this happen to you! If you don't log into beta and find a problem, it won't get fixed!

Thanks,

FAZ DevTeam

Got a major problem,

I cannot use it. I installed the test as per the instructions, but cannot use it. I get an invalid signature, then when I try to open it in the allegiance test.exe I get an error

Not using ASGS right now so you'll get an invalid signature. As far as running AllegianceTest.exe, nearly all problems will be one of the following:

You get the error message described within the installer and need to install the Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable from Microsoft. Again direction in the installer.

Or you crash when you try to run AllegianceTest.exe because you have some of the new Voice Chat packs installed. Workaround is in my installer post and also in my known issues post.

It isn't either of those?

ok, The installation went without error, but I do have the tigereye dukenukem chat pack. Could that be it, and the link to the known issues post please?

The instructions for the workaround as are in bold and yellow in my installer post. If you use the default quick chat list (quickchat.mdl) during the beta, R4 should work for you.

I might as well update my installer now with this workaround since maybe a lot of people have installed one or more of these new voice chat packs.

That was it!!!

I backed up my qchat list, and threw it in there, works like a charm.

BTW I WANT R4!!! Love it!!!!!

Awesome. No need to back up your old list. You shouldn't be overwriting it if you put it in the dev folder which the beta uses (doesn't affect R3 at all).

Anyway I've added this to the installer so it'll be easier for others.
