But what if I want to be able to see all the naughty words? ;xTheBored wrote:QUOTE (TheBored @ Jul 22 2007, 01:30 PM) This is an extension of the censor filter. If someone spams "Giggity giggity giggity giggity.", you won't see or hear a thing.

Bad words = goodBlackViper wrote:QUOTE (BlackViper @ Jul 26 2007, 10:47 AM) Turn the censor off. It is on by default.
Unknown chat = bad
Is this one of those instances involving having cake and wanting to eat it too?

Any objections to getting rid of "Unknown chat" entirely? No need to filter it that way, you just never see it. The down side is you won't know that there may be other chat's out there... but the current message is not very informative. The upside is since you cannot hear the message anyway, and you likely chose not to get that particular chat expansion, why even see the message?
How about a simple low pitch, fairly low volume, short duration beep (or rather a boop), so you know someone said something?
I'd say about 10 to 15% of the lobby 'chatter' was unknown chats for me for periods this evening.
Edit: While it would do the trick, a separate 'filter "Unknown chat"' menu option seems a bit overkill.

I can code in a menu option if need be... I wouldn't mind too much /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Damn that was a fast reply /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Edit: I don't really want to 'clutter' the menu box, there is room but it should be for important things. Although it would be under a sub menu. If you want to code it in I'd be fine with it.

Maybe a sub menu for all things relating to muting/filtering?
TB
EDIT: Like...
Esc -> Game (G) -> Mutes/Filters (M) -> Various muting/filterting options?
(Currently, its all under the G menu)
