Perhaps what you mean to say is that Canadians are more Spiritual and not into The Religious Convnetions and Doctorines.

This may be a huge misunderstanding by Canadians tho.. Being a AmCanoChile
born of American Father and Canadian Mother in Chile..
Raised in Canada and lived in The US from 17yrs old in the US Navy now in my mid 40's.
I have lived in many places in this great land of America. There is the "Plastic Land of Plastic People" In Hollow Wood.
But There is also a Deep Spirituality that is hidden by all the B.S. here!
There is a Greatness of Goodness of the Common Man in America, but because we have it so good it is rarely seen or needed. But in times of Great need "The Giant Awakens"
Canada is ahead of the curve in conservation and environment. Or used to be .. esp. how they used to train the kids on TV to keep the country clean as just a matter of course!!
So this tends to make some Canadians have a sense of Superiority over Americans.. I find all of this quite silly.. I try to think of myself as a Citizen of the World .. it is all one Eco system after all, and we have to care for it as such!

Just an Observation from an old Ottawa boy now a Philly boy..
Man when I was a kid, their were no Ottawa Senators.. we had the "farm" team for the Montreal Canadians .. and I Hated the Broad Street Bullies of the Philadelphia Flyers.. one place I knew I would never live as a kid would be Philly!!

And where in the World do I end up by chance .. but Philly !! LOL That is LIfe for ya!! But PA is so much like the Ottawa / hull region, it is like home. Topography wise anyway!!! I like forests and rolling hillsides and small moutanins enough to ski on.. and all the seasons. I am limited now in what I can do but I still love to watch the tress turn colours.

And what does this have to do with banning ? Doah .. nothing !! Must be the Morphine and Avinza kicking in and the transdermal patch LOL !!

I get booted sometimes I am unsure how many times not too many.. Cadet did help lower the boot amount considerably I think most Commanders are considerate enough that if you are putting in the Effort into Cadet then you are at least trying to do the correct thing!!

i wished i had found this thread before i had spent so much time reading up on all the different factions and tactics, being new to this game. 2nd week into this game (and logging many many hours into it) i come to realize why this game has a hard time attracting and retaining new players. it's not just the high learning curve (most games worth playing have great depth), but its this banning system where you're given absolutely no warning nor explanation when you get booted. sure, of course, you veteran players come up with all sorts of excuses about how we arent following orders or not doing something correctly but you know what? that's why we are new and why we are actively trying to learn by playing more. with a playerbase that supports no more than the occasional 1-2 games every night, you must realize that when you ban people, there are no other games to join. and you know what the next step is? exit the game.

there really ought to be games where newbies arent allowed to join or discouraged from joining. then those vets who "cant be bothered" can play their quality games without going on their power trip. i agree, allegiance has the potential to be a great game, but its getting held back by a newbie-unfriendly atmosphere that erodes the small player base. i'm sorry to say that though i was previously excited about the allegiance's concept and gameplay, enough to recommend it to a few of my friends, i can no longer do so. you commanders who love wielding the ban stick can enjoy your games now, one less noob to deal with...

Alakran,

As a new player you should have protection from booting until your rank reaches (5). You can still be booted but only if you are actively working against the team and have been warned to stop what you're doing and had it explained to you how to stop (say if you stop donating the com should explain how to start again before booting you, at very least if you ask for an explanaition you should get one).

If you think you have been unjustly booted then you should PM Blackviper on this forum with the details of the time and server.

Thanks Raveen, the thing is that once booted, you cant even join into that game room to ask questions, even on the white team (non playing).

I dont want to make a big deal out of it, just wanted to point out something that might help out the community since it is obvious to me that there must be a core group of gamers really passionate about allegiance to spend so much time and effort in creating such a great site. I also come from a community centered around an old game with a dwindling player base. I created/run/maintain such a site, I know the challenges first hand and i'd rather see that all the hard work put into creating this site benefit more new players for years to come.

That's what "hiders" (alternate nicks) are for. You're allowed three nicks in total. When you get booted, log back in using an alternative and you'll be able to get back into the game.

Most comms will actually expect you to switch nicks and log back in. It's a convention that's been built up over the years.
