I dont know, but when I want to do the training, everytime the training instructor wants to control my ship (i.e. turn it, move it whatever), the whole screen except for the hud turns black and nothing happens and I also cant do anything.
Maybe it is a specific hardware problem because no-one else reported it yet?
Training broken?
Although this is a old thread, I just installed Allegiance today, and I'm getting the same type of error in mission #3. As well, the same behavior occurs when entering the aleph in mission #4.w0dk4 wrote:QUOTE (w0dk4 @ Jun 20 2007, 09:09 AM) I dont know, but when I want to do the training, everytime the training instructor wants to control my ship (i.e. turn it, move it whatever), the whole screen except for the hud turns black and nothing happens and I also cant do anything.

What info is needed for investigating this bug?
As it seems to be a hardware related bug a description of your hardware and others who have the same issue would help. The graphics engine has been changed to directx9 since this topic was made though so it would be interesting to see if this bug still appears. For now, I would suggest you would simply join one of the online games which is what this game is about anyway. Enjoy Allegiance.

I have installed the game today (February 12 2010) and I have the same training problem as described above. It occur in all training missions. My Laptop is Fujitsu Siemens amilo pro 2550. I have ati radeon HD 2400, 2 gigs of RAM, and CPU Intel Core 2 duo T5550. Is there a solution found for this problem?
skip the training missions that don't work for you, read the wiki, play the game, do @cadet. The wiki tells you a lot more than the TMs, you should pick up some stuff in game, @cadet will help you a lotKsandar wrote:QUOTE (Ksandar @ Feb 12 2010, 04:26 AM) Is there a solution found for this problem?
I've had the same bug to.
BUT I found a work-around
Just minimize the Allegiance screen with ALT+TAB or WIN+d.
The training goes on but you don't see it.
When she wants you to move your ship just pop up your screen back and it will be fine.
I don't know if it helps.
If you want i can past my specs to help

There might be another work around, too. It seems that if someone experiencing the "blackout issue" in the training session first plays a game, then heads off to the training mission, the problem doesn't appear. At least with this person's hardware: Linky
Figured a dev might find this curious, and perhaps a lead into what might cause it.

This may be fixed with the restoration of the hidden TM7 (Live Arena) - it's still there, but active now.. in your current build it's there but deactivated which could be causing issues. It was removed in the first place to allow people w/o pro versions of vstudio to compile the client....silly.

These bugs haven't been fixed yet because don't have any developers interested in fixing them up. --Tigereye

I too have been having this "blackout" issue. For the flight and weapons missions, whenever the "commander" either moves my ship or relinquishes control, this is when it happens. Strangely, everything works fine for the Arena and Support missions. I was really hoping to run the Weapons mission to get the hang of how the controls respond. Two previous posts speak of a work around. I will see about these. The second workaround needs more information on how to implement it though.
