I've got the same problem (Cyborg Graphite Joystick). I've deleted that entry and still, unless I hold the High hat in the UP position, I roll clockwise.aem wrote:QUOTE (aem @ May 30 2007, 10:30 PM) Press Esc, then G, then C in Allegiance to map controls. At the bottom of this list are joystick controls. Delete the entry for Roll
If I hold the High hat in the up position, the rolling stops, but my thumb starts to cramp - not to mention, I can't move my thumb to fire missles or use my booster!
No special software or drivers are used for this joystick on XP (Checked the manufacturers site).
The Joystick works fine in other games and the High hat works fine - same thing in the Windows Game Controller config/calibrate screen.

Tried that - even tried re-mapping the hat to side thrustes and Zoom in and out. (The way I would rather use it).Andon wrote:QUOTE (Andon @ Jun 14 2007, 10:37 AM) Disable anything with the hat in the Allegiance controls. It seems like you're not using it anyway.
Some people say there is a bug in the training missions only, but it's doing it in the regular missions as well.
Since the Orginal Poster and I are having the same problem, with 2 different brands of joysticks, I wonder if there is a setting in the game we are missing? So far, I've tinkered with everything dealing with the joystick or hat controls.
just an FYI - I f I launch the game with just the mouse and keyboard, the problem does not exsist.
I wonder if there is something about the command signals certian joysticks send that the game is not interpreting right? I remember back when Mechwarrior 4 came out, certian joysticks had the axis for the throttle reversed (Throttle to full to stop, throttle down to speed up!!) That one took a manual edit to one of the INI files in the game folder to correct, at least until a patch was released. (Funny, never had a bug like that in Mechwarrior until MicroSoft bought it!!! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> )

Like I said, I tried that. Set it to use hat as buttons and mapped the hat to thrusters (L/R) and zoom buttons.ImmortalZ wrote:QUOTE (ImmortalZ @ Jun 14 2007, 11:03 AM) Guys having problems with the hat can try changing the setting "Use hat as buttons.".
