i just got a new computer and am running asgs under compatibility mode
in the game i tried clicking on a server, recieved error message
same is true with all servers.

ive tried changing firewall settings with both mcaffe and norton. that dosnt seem to be the issue.
i am using the same router that i used w/the old computer, that not the issue

Vista is probably the source of your problem... So far we don't know why it causes those connection problems.

If you do a search through the forums you can read discussions about getting Vista working. People do have working installations, but we have not tested it much and most of the support staff is on XP.

Since we won't be able to give you much support I would suggest cobbling together an old machine.

Suggestions:

1) Run ASGS/Alleg in compatibility mode.
2) Install the latest patches for Vista
3) Check and double check permissions. UAC is a pain.
4) Switch to XP.
