ELO is the ranking system that we use. Points are awarded for wins, points are deducted for losses.

The command wing is something that you join so you can see the orders that the commander gives to constructors and miners. If you are on command wing, you are able to see what the commander is doing, even if the comm doesnt tell you guys.

I would suggest signing up for the @CDT program.

@CDT will teach you everything you need to know, and then some.

you can email them at: Cadet@freeallegiance.org

email both your forum name, and your ingame SN, and they will add you to the current or next session.

it is an 8 week program, with a guided lesson plan, a forum for questions and answers, and a bunch of helpful instructors.

thanks for the help.
I will sign up for cadet, but what exactly is it? do you play a game with an instructor every week, or is it just a forum-based program?

It's self-lead instruction.

The provide resources and materials to you, and provide you with insight into the game's workings. In return, you follow the program (for example, focusing on a single ship type for certain weeks) and in the end you should have a firm grasp on the concepts.

In addition the Cadet forum has several instructors that are available should you wish to ask questions.

Good for you! One suggestion: you'll get out of it what you put in to it. Stick with the program and you'll come up to speed and do well... if you only work at it half-heartedly, or try to cut corners, you're only going to be cheating yourself. /mrgreen.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="mrgreen.gif" />

Cadet didn't teach me about ELO... I had to go hunt out wikipedia after I heard it being referred to for Chess. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
