thank you for your replys ;p
yes I have just been playing on newbie server, and the core is usually DN 4.60 i believe.
Knowing people still do it with ff on certainly makes it seem much more valid, as I didn't know that and thought only could happen with it turned off /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> Guess its just part of my wish that some games played with it on instead of all (newbie anyways) turned off. Would be nice if your in a 1 vs 3+ dogfight to be able to manuever yoru ship in ways to try to get the enemys between each other to help.
Thanks BlackViper for that tip /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> I am assuming this also is true of holding your momentum after using thrusters too then ;p
Confused on Ramming
learn to use your side thrusters
click my sig to look at my keymap - i only fly with sidethrusters, never use throttle

hitting booster also turns on your forward thusters, even if you dont' have boosters on your ship or are out of fuel.

Since we're on the topic, I was ramming a Bios bomber the other day. Due to it's shape I was able to practically park the nose of my scout on the back of it and got it up to some serious speed w/o having very much slamming going on. I figured I was doing an exceptional job since most people seem to just ram and not try to actually push. There was another nan behind me who told me to get out of the way... So my question is, did the other nan have any way to improve the speed? or was he just realllly wanting his turn to smack his sheilds? I was not about to push the bomber through an aleph, BTW.

Well, with a constant push you can maintain a constant speed boost on the bomber, but with a nice full speed scout ram you can get the bomber up over 100 mps for a short time, where as you probably had it going somewhere around 80 mps.
If you can get a nice rotation going the full speed rams may work better, but I hate doing tactics by the numbers and such. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":o" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

Seriously dude, if you have three nans and they seem to know what they are doing, ram side thrust to fall back and get off to the side, get in the back of the line, and take your turn ramming.
I have been a bbr pilot and on some exceptional runs, I have been able to get the ol' bucket of bolts up to abot 90 mps avg. speed (ok that is a guess -- it was between 80 and 100 mps).
So, when the bbr pilot is calling for some ramming, he is not talking about having intimate relations -- he wants you to make him go faster. Unless it is Serb. Then you've got bigger problems. /tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Robin: "Gosh, Batman, this camel grass juice is great."
Batman: "Beware of strong stimulants, Robin."
Hyperjump Vans with all fuel are great for ramming htt's.
