Interesting read, can't say I agree with all of it.

The physics was not decoupled from the renderer. The change updated the renderer to D3D9, as well as some changes made by Imago which I don't think were related either. Incidentally, the reason for keeping both dx7 and dx9 builds side-by-side was ...
