IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It's a program that you can run in the background to chat to other people. You connect to servers, and from there choose what chat room (called "channels") you want to join in on.

IRC Client

You do not need to install an IRC client to join the chat. Click here to connect.

There are, of course, desktop IRC clients with more features like mIRC; Firefox has the ChatZilla browser extension; Opera features a built-in IRC client. Once you've got that running you can connect to Quakenet. Then type /join #channel.

More channels

There are several Allegiance-related channels on the Quakenet servers.
