These are the default keybindings, as they have been since the start of Allegiance. They are useful for completing the first five training missions.
For playing online, the Blackdutchie-Keybindings are recommended instead.
Restore Defaults
To restore the default keybindings, open the menu ESC → Game G → Map Keys and Controls C. On the bottom right of that menu, click "Restore Defaults", then "Accept".
Why Another Keymap?
- Sidethrusting in your ship is a useful maneuver in combat. With those controls on the Num keys, it is hard to do if you want to use any other function, like targeting, droping mines, and the like.
- Aiming is done with the mouse, shooting should be too. So the spacebar can be used for something else.
