1. Position yourself approximately behind the miner (recall where it came from and fly there and look at the rock its going to be mining, scouts need ot be about 3k, SFS about 4k)
2. Come to full stop
3. Zoom at the miner and target rock that it will be mining
4. With sidethrusters position yourself so that miner is in the middle of white targetting square for the rock (SFS : position so that the targetting reticule is on the miner)
5. Come to full stop
5.1 Target miner
5.2 Turn on auto=pilot
5.3 Turn off mouse control (twice hit F5 and dont touch mouse, or 0 in numpad)
5.4 Thrust up to disable autopilot (it will try to avoid nearby rocks)
6. Boost to 160 (SFS do not boost, just thrust normally to the miner)
7. Reload fuel (SFS ###)
8. Wait until 1700m (SFS 500m)
9. Boost until you ram the miner, as scout, deploy rescue probe 200m before.
you do not have to mount missiles or guns, or shoot them, it works just like that.
=========================================================
Cargo masses matter, so carry heavy stuff if you can, like prox.
Values that you need to know :
Theoretically you can ramkill miner even without using AP (especially for scouts) You dont need to do preboosting either All you need to care about is that you are about right on his ass (pretty accurate about) And that you get these speeds : Scouts Sfs Std Miner 210 185 Enh miner 220 190-195 Adv miner 230 195-200 There is no difference in these for advscout hvy scout and advsfs.
Factions it doesnt work with :
Rixian Dreg (untested, assumed it will not work, it actually could work) Bios (tested, the collision is buggy so your success rate is real low)
Phantom032 says: Rix and Dreg work, but its really hard to hit them in the right spot. But if you hit them right you don’t even need as much speed as for IC/OH/Giga. TF needs less speed too since their miners only have 80 mass instead of the usual 100, but they only stay very short time on the rock. Bios and especially GT are the hardest though, (either because the miners are shorter and don’t get stuck in the rock as easily or because of hitboxes, don’t know about that)
LANS notes: GT has higher mass and armor than other factions, so you need more speed to make the miner move as fast (higher mass) and the miner needs to hit the rock harder to die (more armor)
