Note Before placing a lock template on an article, follow these guidelines:
  • Locking a page is for indepth and prolonged editing, typically for rewrites or new articles.
  • You should only place a lock on an article in very special circumstances, in most cases it's not required as articles are not usually edited often enough to create conflicts.
  • Editing a locked page shouldn't be done without checking with the user that locked it.
  • A lock is to deter the average editor from creating conflicts during editing, it is not meant to show ownership of an article, for personal articles use a subpage on your userpage.
  • Remove this template as soon as possible. A WikiMod may remove as appropriate.
