Note Before placing a lock template on an article, follow these guidelines: - Locking a page is for indepth and prolonged editing, typically for rewrites or new articles.
- You should only place a lock on an article in very special circumstances, in most cases it's not required as articles are not usually edited often enough to create conflicts.
- Editing a locked page shouldn't be done without checking with the user that locked it.
- A lock is to deter the average editor from creating conflicts during editing, it is not meant to show ownership of an article, for personal articles use a subpage on your userpage.
- Remove this template as soon as possible. A WikiMod may remove as appropriate.
Example
Please, do not edit this page. Even if you can. [[User:{{{1}}}]] {{{2}}}.
- Please check back later before editing this page.
- Please remember to remove the lock after you are done!
- Do you want a random page you can likely edit right now?
Usage
{{Lock|username|reason}}
