I was just bounty hunting in Asellus Primus. 27k + change for a pair of Cobras and a Sidewinder. Bounties are in real money now.
I'm gonna stick with the sidey for a while. Pimp it up good.
So far:
Pair of fixed low heat burst lasers (free pulse lasers were probably better)
Heat sink launcher
Kill warrant scanner

Died once to a glitching station. Still 37k in the bank, and feeling fat and happy.

I kind of need this game, but I don't want to fork out a premium to play the beta.
It sounds awesome. Officially more excited for this than Star Citizen.

I must say the NPC fighting AI is really fun. I'm enjoying playing as a bounty hunter no end, and tuning the sidewinder is really satisfying.
I feel Frontier are knocking this one out of the park. 5/5

You buy the game, box price.
Then buy future expansion packs.
I haven't heard of microtransactions.
Adept knows everything though, so he can feel free to explain how I am wrong about everything.

I forked out for the lifetime pass £100, to my knowledge it is completely you pay for the game & thats it, no pay2win no monthly fees.

Micro transactions for vanity items, and major expansions, like 1st persona avatar stuff and landing on planets.

I have a fancy CH HOTAS, and it's super fun... but mouse works just as well as it does in Alleg. If you find an analogue device to use for translation (aka sidethrusting) then that is a nice addition, but not mandatory in any way.
Solarflux@RT flies with a mouse, just as he did here, and he took to the game like a duck to water.
