perhaps comm ability to hilight sectors, so they can quickly respond to people who ask "where is virk?"
i some times find i have to spend a few secs finding a sector if i join mid game, that could be 5 secs spent getting where i need to be, instead of finding the sector on the map.
though drawing would be handy to direct bombers onlong routes, or exlain the order you are going to mine in / want your miner sitter to take your miners in

It sounds like a good idea, but I don't think it will be worth it in the long run. We can all agree it should be off the minimap so it does not clutter it, which means it has to be a pop out display. Having to check that display every so often just adds one more thing for the pilots or the comm to do during the game (and they are probably already busy looking at the f3, or watching out for alerts on the minimap). You would spend as much time looking at the drawings as you would looking up which sector is where.
Cool idea, but not that worth it. (not everyone would check it, and the comm would still type up the plan or write the order just to be sure everyone knows anyways). It would fall into disuse.
Now there was something that some1 mentioned that sounded simpler. The comm spends his time on the f3 screen most of the time, so it would make sense for him to mark stuff up on that screen. (circle camping points or mining fields) These outlines would show up for anyone looking at the f3 for that sector, which can orient them better. I realize the com can do this already by giving waypoint commands, but this way he can be more specific by pointing out an area, or by writting words on the sector itself. Therefore, it would give pilots more situational awareness because they can see what is needed in a sector even though they just entered it.
The only problems I can forsee are the fact that there is not way to limit this to just the commander, and the duration each mark should be left for. These points are minor and with some suggestions could be figured out.
Tell me what you think about it.

actually you could spot the sector faster with a nice circle around it...

i think not, you dont really need to draw on sectors them selves, most things are pritty obvious in a sector...
the only thing i can see is enemy tele here... "X" when its un-eyed, but we allready use waypoints for that...
hmmm, multiple wayypoints /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Actually, if we could just get mutliple waypoints to be coded, that would be pretty freaking awesome.

agreed, multiple waypoints are something that ive thought would be good many times while playing.
showing noobs where to put their probes would actually be worthwhile if you could mark all the points in 10 seconds.
