I'm not sure what you guys are whining about, I never caught any crap except when I was ignoring good advice or taking bad advice, and it's pretty easy to tell which is which based on who's giving it

I wish there was a way to have a decent game without needing commanders.

I don't step up for command because of the pressure, and because I know it'll be a lousy game for my team if I do.

I've won a couple times, but that was because my team pulled together and got @#(! done, I mostly just did as they said. I hate to command though, I'm not cut out for RTS, I tend to lose track of important things.

I actually played yesterday and lost all games as a commander. It is not that bad, you can always blame your team. :)

So why is the player base not growing as we would like?

1.) Bitching. It puts people off.

2.) The game is hard. Try, really try hard not to humiliate people for making mistakes.

3.) Lack of willing commanders. Day time, it's only TC and Dibbley who step up regularly. People are scared to command. More encouragement and love needed. Only a few people backseat and help, others just bitch. (see 1)

4.) Excuses, excuses, excuses. Don't just blame commanders or team-mates for a loss. Either the whole team is at fault or the other team was just better, JUST BETTER THAN YOU! YOUR FIRED!! ;)

I can't say that the player base has shrunk since I've been here, but it certainly hasn't grown.

I'm sure you can all think of reasons as to why it's not growing. Let's weed out the problems and encourage more people to join.

I do not want to here from some one I have invited to the game give up because they felt like an outsider, or because 'it was boring, they just sit around for half an hour and no game started', or (God forbid) some one was horrible to them.

I have introduced a lot of people to this game and none of them have stayed to my knowledge. Why is this?

MW and brood might be arguing semantics, but they are both right. They both care, as I hope most of you do.

What about when games are obviously a hopeless lost cause?
Two choices: 1. Join the team that's getting steamrolled, rip hair out in frustration. 2. Sit in the lobby and whine until a new game starts.

There's no fun in constantly going up against the team with all the clueful players stacked on it. It's not even challenging, it's just a slaughter. They have better ships, better tech, better pilots, a better comm, what the $#@! do you do?

There is the anti-stack rule. It's kind of an unwritten rule and doesn't stand for much other than trying to balance the teams before the game starts.

What if the stack was tied to KB. Would that make for more evenly matched games?

The higher the stack on a team the less KB is earned.

The most negative feedback I've had is from the length of time it takes to get a game going.

I feel your pain on the better pilots/tech side of things, but isn't that what it's all about? The better team wins.

I do believe that a tougher anti-stack rule would sort that out. As for the length of time it takes to get a game going, can only be solved with more willing comms. I would like to see people fighting over who wants to be comm rather than trying to get the good comms (who would like to fly more) who end up with burnout and prone to boot-rage attacks.

We have lost some good comms through boot-rage and subsequent bans resulting in a dumbing down in game play.

Damm I miss goatporn. He was such a cool comm but he got some massive banns and we haven't seen him since.

Is there a comm ranking system. It would help balance things out. Evenly matched comms would stop everyone jumping on the better comms team, so it's not noob vs vets. It does kill the fun.
