The Libertarian party is still too far out there for a lot of people.

After all, this is a party that supports:

Open Borders
Non-Interventionist foreign policy
Sound Money (no unwarranted cheap credit)
Gay Marriage and/or elimination of government sanctioned marriage
Elimination of the income tax
Elimination of Social Security
Elimination of Medicare

Even I don't agree with some of the positions of the Libertarian party, but I am willing to compromise in their direction.

Doesn't matter what they support cam, do you really think a Republican and Democratic house and senate would allow any of the ideals to pass? Lol no. But it would be way better than to have someone like Obama or his brother Romney to be selected.

What bothers me most is that people vote the way they worship. It's like "my mom was a democrat so I have to be a democrat". No, seriously. I've asked many people (relatives, relatives of family friends, people on campus) about who they're voting for and why. You know the answers I get?

"I vote for [a political party] because I'm part of [a political party]." - This provides zero insight as to what their opinion of the state of the United States is.
"I'm voting for Romney because Obama is keeping the gas prices up." - Really? Gas prices are OBAMA'S fault?
"I'm voting for Romney because Obama isn't doing anything productive." - Then I ask follow up questions and get vague answers.
"I'm voting for Obama because of Obamacare." - So you're going to vote for someone because of one thing they did instead of what they'll do?

And this is why the country is going down. Sure, it might be the politicians' fault for being ignorant of basic scientific principles (opening a window on a plane Romney, really?) but it's also the fault of the people. Again, maybe I just live in a dumb area, but I'm seeing more and more people drop math courses at college. I'm seeing more people go into humanities. History, literature, and art majors. Heck, I'm even seeing philosophy majors. And when you start seeing serious philosophy majors, you know things are going downhill.

if you quit here and weren't activly working against any marketing efforts i wouldn't be for banning you from the forums

although I am against obama care in that it is working in a way that is just making insurance companies more profitable- I advocate a regulated single payer system.
and I get where you are coming from about the soft college degrees, but there is a place in society for art, and often art marks how successful and sustainable a culture is.

and even if I disagree about humanities and what not , a variance in opinion doesn't make me want you banned from the forums.

I don't understand what is wrong with any of:

Open Borders
Non-Interventionist foreign policy
Sound Money (no unwarranted cheap credit)
Gay Marriage and/or elimination of government sanctioned marriage

If any one wants to debate any of these points and why they should be non issues, please respond. And of course they aren't absolutes and are open to interpretations.

However, I am in favor of social programs honoring those who need it,.. ie:

Social Security
Medicare

Both of which require either income tax or sales tax.
As sales tax is regressive (higher income people pay a smaller portion of their income in sales tax than lower income people), I am more in favor of income tax. Preferably a progressive one that isn't too skewed as to discourage entrepreneurs and innovation.

Although with a true universal health care system, medicare would cease to be an issue.

I understand how you feel sometimes. But if you truly feel so negative about the game, just leave.
If you are being part of a solution, you are just part of the problem.

I see you have logged in fairly recently. And you are also part of MEC.

I am struggling to understand your position and motivations for discouraging people from joining.

I would appreciate any clarification.
