I'm Alpha284. Even though my registration date is about 3 years ago, I have never tried a "real" game of Allegiance, only single-man self-opened servers or the Training missions, and I couldn't even beat a Bios scout in Training mission 6, so I never set foot on any of the servers. I also got kind of discouraged by the articles on Allegwiki (which I have been reading for quite sometime, so I know my way around the game minimally and in theory), the reason for which not even I can explain. So I'm still a newb, even though I had both a forum and an in-game account for almost 3 years, though I lost the password of my old ASGS-account sometime after registration, and I couldn't find a way to reclaim it. I will look into that, however.
Anyway, I hope I will finally get out of my hole. The game is up and running on my PC, and pretty much ready to play. I really want to like this game, though its learning curve is, like mentioned, daunting as all h***.
Hopefully see you around, I just need to figure out how this game works. I suppose my several-year experience with other Space combat sims won't help me much here. I would be thankful for any help, though I don't think I have the time for the AFS. I will read its extensive articles, though.
