I downloaded SOVRoute after my fresh windows install. Alleg works fine, no problems with anything, but SOVRoute is giving me some attitude.

First off, I can't remember if I actually have to download the server configuration file from a site like the program wants to do. If so, what is that site? I had the whole thing working before, no prob, but it's been so long since I've set up sovroute that I really don't remember much about it.

Secondly, this is probably related to the first issue: When I try to connect to my friend's game, it won't connect. It will search forever if I let it, and doesn't lock up.

As a side note, I don't have the server re-installed yet on my end, but I assume that wouldn't be a problem if I'm trying to connect to an external server. Only other thing I can think of is maybe my friend needs to update his server...? Although he says that when he opens multiple instances on his side for a lan game on his own machine everything works fine. Ideas?

With the current code, servers need to be able to listen on port 47624 to accept incoming connection requests by clients.

Tell your friend to ensure his router is forwarding that port to his machine (if he has a router)

As far as SOVRoute goes, there hasn't been a server hosting a config file for like 4 years since we have a proper lobby set up thanks to the work done by KGJV, Pook, and I think Spunky.

You can use the manual option in SOVRoute to connect to your friend's server if you must, but the easiest way to get onto his server is to have him host it on our lobby and just log into it through ASGS.

If you want it to be private, tell him to password protect the game.

SOVRoute was intended to be used when there was no lobby, but we've got a working one now.
