Mouse vs. joystick
A common debate in the community is whether using a mouse or a joystick makes you a better pilot. Generally the original questioner wants to know which the top players use.
- There are great players that use a mouse and there are great players that use a joystick.
The answer is rather simple. Use the one you are most familiar with. Neither option gives an advantage over the other. Players that are used to First Person Shooters will find the mouse more natural whearas flight sim players will have no problem with a joystick. Use the option that you are most comfortable with.
Forum polls have indicated that more people use the mouse as their primary controller. This may be a bit misleading because every modern computer has a mouse thus more people are likely to start playing any given game with it. Joysticks do not have this advantage.
One point should be made very clear. Do *NOT* use just your keyboard to fly around. Both mouse and joystick offer large advantages over the keyboard alone.
