There have been a number of people making topics about MK covering up the female characters, and some people point out the violence should bother folks more than boobs. So, I'll bite. What do you think? Has the violent imagery in recent Mortal Kombat games gone too far?

Personally, I think it could benefit from scaling things back a bit. The games keep having to one-up themselves to the point that the X-ray Moves and Fatalities are so elaborate and long. They kind of interrupt the flow of gameplay. I mean, it should never be a tame bloodless affair, but at least keeping the X-ray moves quick and simple could be to the games benefit.

Anyway, what do you think?

I don't know why people play Mortal Combat anymore. It was cool in its first iteration, meant to be played in the small arcade area of the local pizza shop. A mash buttons type of game.

You're probably right that the very long cut scenes of fatalities are a bit much in the new versions.
