I don't know the entire history of the Rothchilds so that for the link.
I'm aware of some of their history starting after WW2.
It's actually rather hard to find accurate information on the family, they seem to operate behind closed doors so info is sketchy at best.

From what I know, which isn't much, these days they're a sorta-generic large rich family with widely diversified assets, a lot of banking and mining investments.


Where the fame and conspiracy theories come from is earlier stuff - they owned and controlled a significant part of the banking industry in the late 1800s, and then later the mining industry in that same time period. They had noble titles in the HRE, Austrian empire, and UK (still do in the UK).
