I've been looking on-line for floor plans to build a new house. Problem is I haven't found anything I like.
Before I try to find an architect I thought I would see if anyone here does house design and would be interested in a side job?

If so post here or send me a PM.

Thanks
Paps

No sir....rather busy with work recently so no time to download and learn it proficiently enough to make decent drawings.

I really hope Paps has had a PM from Globey....

I won't offer to design anything for you but if you want a quick sense check on anything, particularly drainage, just give me a shout.

Hi Raveen,

I appreciate the offer.
As a steamfitter by trade I have worked on lots of drainage systems over the years so I should be good with that aspect of the project.
If I wasn't so busy I would put pencil to paper and draw up the designs myself.
It was a long time ago but I used to do a fair bit of drafting.
I'm looking for something fairly simple just showing basic room layout of the place.
Once I like the overall layout the drawings will go to an architectural firm for actual construction design and engineer stamped blue prints.

Thanks again
Paps

When I designed our house, I visited a lot of display homes, took they handouts with floor layouts and because we had a non standard block, cut and pasted rooms together to bulk up the plan before issuing it to a draftsman.

It also helps you to manage costs as square meterage = $$

I would recommend not just designing something and editing it. Get the building blocks right first
